Despite the fact that it’s almost time to celebrate Kate Middleton and Prince William’s one year anniversary, new information about THE DRESS is still coming out. The CIA could really learn a thing or two from Sarah Burton. Grazia attended the “Dress of the Year” ceremony at the Bath Fashion Museum where Vogue‘s Hamish Bowles was presiding, and he let out a few new details about Sarah Burton’s grand cover-up scheme.

Remember how the McQueen collection she showed last March was heavy on white and cream wedding-esque dresses? That was done specifically so that she could order the yards and yards of lace and fabric she needed for the wedding dress without raising any suspicion. “The white and ivory dresses in this collection were created as a cover for The White Dress Project,” Bowles said, “Namely the wedding dress that Sarah Burton created for Catherine Middleton’s marriage to Prince William – the most anticipated, talked about, and ultimately, applauded dress of the year.” But the best part of Bowles’ story was the part about when Anna Wintour approached Burton to ask her about the dress.
