The anti-Cathy Horyn club has an official new member: Hedi Slimane.

Following Horyn’s piece in today’s New York Times in which she slammed Hedi Slimane’s debut ready-to-wear collection for Saint Laurent and claimed that she had not been invited to his show because of an eight-year-old grudge the designer was holding against her, Slimane took to Twitter to issue a response and, um, blow off some steam.

Celebrities may know how to turn it on for the red carpet, but when they’re sitting down, enjoying (or maybe not enjoying) a fashion show, they often forget that they’re still surrounded by cameras. Thus, fashion week provides great opportunities to see celebrities when they’re not controlling what their faces are doing. And often, that means they look absolutely miserable and/or angry. Whether that means they actually are miserable or just have chronic bitchface, we’ll never know. All we do know is that it’s really entertaining for us. (And that we’re glad the cameras aren’t on us because we’re sure we’d look just as miz.) From poor Harvey Weinstein to a distraught Ryan Lochte, click through for some prime examples. (We’ll be updating throughout fashion month, don’t worry.)

That's intrepid reporter Jo Piazza on a toilet.

Fashion Week does a beautiful job of being beautiful. On the runway fantasy becomes reality because reality is ugly. But for just a sliver of the week, we wanted to get real. That’s why we headed to the one place where even fashionistas can’t pretend–the ladies’ room.

So we eavesdropped from the stalls of Fashion Week so you didn’t have to.

Jennifer Eymere, now a defendant (Photo: Getty)

Well, that didn’t take long.

Lynn Tesoro, the PR girl who got a slap in the face at the Zac Posen show earlier this week is suing.

According to the New York Daily News, Tesoro is suing Jalouse editor Jennifer Eymere, who slapped Tesoro (and admitted it proudly to WWD) after things escalated while Tesoro was attempting to find Eymere and her group (including Eymere’s mom) a seat at the show. The NYFD had just removed 60 seats, so it was a bit of a logistical nightmare.

Tesoro is suing Eymere for a cool $1 million, claiming “assault, battery, emotional distress, slander and/or libel.” While Eymere reportedly said, “Don’t f*ck with the French” after delivering her little love tap, we think she’s learned a valuable lesson that we learned a long time ago: Don’t f*ck with fashion PR people.

By now you’ve probably heard about Michelle Obama’s inspiring, tear-jerking, “mom-in-chief” speech at the DNC last night and ooh’ed and aah’ed over her pink Tracy Reese/J.Crew ensemble. But until a few minutes ago, there was one style mystery that no one had yet solved: What color is that nail polish she’s wearing?

Many sites speculated what the color might be, other sites told you how to get the look, but until now, no one knew for sure what the color was. OPI even sent out a press release guessing that the color might be “I Don’t Give a Rotterdam” from the brand’s summer Holland collection. But it wasn’t OPI. Are you ready to find out?

Remember the big news back in June that H&M was doing a collaboration with Maison Martin Margiela? Well, in our sun-addled summer state, we’d sort of forgotten about it–until our memories were jogged by this PICTURE OF AN ACTUAL DRESS FROM THE COLLECTION!

Someone over at the Fashion Spot found this image that a blogger scanned from French Elle. There hasn’t been a single hint about what the collection, due to hit H&M stores November 15, would look like until this little glimpse. The answer? It looks a lot like Margiela’s main collection. Witness below, where we pulled two looks from the label’s 2012 pre-fall and fall collection.

Yes it’s still August, but the days are already shorter and the nights a bit cooler. You know what that means: It’s time for the fall nail polish collections to drop!

Getting sick to death of neons and soft nudes? If so, you are going to love fall. There are a lot of rich jewel tones, the now-ubiquitous metallics, and even some fun new fancy top coats (think: crocodile effect). Just to make sure you know all your options, we’ve pulled together a guide to the best collections we’ve seen for fall so far.

A few early trends we’ve noticed while digging through all our bottles? Wine, eggplant, oxblood–no matter what you call it, you better have a few in your nail arsenal this season. And yes, grey is everywhere. Nail polish designers have gleefully embraced 50 Shades of Grey just like everyone else has. And rusty, earthy shimmers are also on our radar this season. Pastels and neons? Nowhere to be found.

Last night as we were watching our amazing US women’s gymnastics team win the gold medal, we couldn’t help but notice how absolutely ferocious those ladies looked. I’m not talking about their muscular quads and killer dismounts either–I’m talking about their LOOK. The metallic leotard, strong eye and piles of Swarovski crystals sent as much of a message as a woman wearing a Roland Mouret dress and five inch Louboutins: Don’t eff with me.

These powerhouses are so compelling because of the superhuman things they do with their bodies, but we’re also fascinated by their fashion code. To that end, we decided to take a look back at the skinniest catwalk of them all–the balance beam.

From Nadia Comaneci in 1976 to our 2012 US Fab Five, come take a tumble with us through the history of gymnastics style.

Lanvin’s latest ad campaign has created a decent amount of buzz, and with good reason–Alber’s models aren’t models at all. They’re ordinary women (and men) whose ages fall somewhere between 18 and 82.

We’ve already fallen in love with the woman at the latter end of the spectrum–Jacquie “Tajah” Murdock, a former Apollo dancer whose lifelong dream it was to make it as a model in Paris. She’s somewhat of a regular on Ari Seth Cohen’s street style blog, Advanced Style, but she’s not the only one in the campaign who has been featured on the site.

Earlier this month Skinny Gossip, a site which bills itself as “pro-skinny” (read: pro-ana) wrote a pretty hate-filled post detailing all the ways in which Kate Upton is fat. Yes, you read that right. Kate Upton, the inescapable supermodel, man magnet, and fashion’s latest it-girl is, according to the site, too fat (which is even a kinder version of the vitriol spewed by The Skinny which called Upton a “squishy brick”).

Obviously this is sad on so many levels. Upton is clearly gorgeous–Jezebel points out that she is “basically the epitome of curvy, blonde beauty,” that she “ticks every box”–and she is a welcome variation to the size 0 model that has become the norm, though we don’t know that we’d necessarily call her plus size. Over at BuzzFeed Amy Odell also stood up for Upton, writing, “[H]aters can go on hating, but any model that doesn’t fit into a the runways’ preferred insanely skinny — yet muscley! — mold is more than alright by me.”
