The only thing more awkward and uncomfortable than spotting a man wearing leggings as pants in Manhattan? This article about men wearing leggings as pants in Manhattan, brought to us by the fine (and as you’d imagine, somewhat conservative) people at Business Insider.

According to the piece, which was written by a Brit, ‘meggings,’ as we’re calling them nowadays, are “all the rage in sartorial circles” and “taking Manhattan by storm” (Ed note: Too soon?). Justin Bieber and Russel Brand both wear ’em, and “fashion stores” like Uniqlo, Nordstrom, and Barneys can barely keep them in stock. While you may have never seen a grown guy sporting said man tights (apart from that one exhibitionist American Apparel Chelsea employee), meggings have their own #fuckyeah Tumblr… so they must be real.

And the meggings trend is apparently only going to get worse. Quote, “The bad news is [meggings] are on their way to Britain. Uniqlo is already selling them on its British website, and their success in New York is seen as an indication they will also prove popular here.” Eek.
